Steps to Your PADI Discover Scuba Diving Adventure
1. Book Your Spot
Reserve your Discover Scuba Diving experience online or by phone with Ocean Therapy Charters. We’ll provide everything you need to get started!
2. Fill Out Your Medical Questionnaire
All participants must complete the required diver medical questionnaire before the excursion. Certain “Yes” answers require a physician’s review and signed medical clearance before diving. Participants who require medical clearance must submit all three completed pages before departure.
3. Complete PADI eLearning (20–30 mins)
Before your dive day, you’ll complete a short online PADI eLearning course. This covers the basic principles of scuba diving and helps prepare you for what to expect underwater. You will receive a separate email containing links to the PADI eLearning and required PADI forms.
4. Meet at the Boat & Gear Up
Arrive at our dock at the scheduled time. You’ll be welcomed aboard our dive boat Ocean Therapy, fitted with premium Scubapro gear, and introduced to your PADI instructor.
5. Pre-Dive Briefing & Shallow Water Skills
Your instructor will walk you through how to use the gear, underwater communication, and safety techniques. Then, you’ll enter shallow water to practice essential scuba skills until you feel confident.
6. Take the Plunge!
Once you’re comfortable, it’s time for your guided reef dive! You’ll explore a beautiful, shallow Hawaiian reef (maximum depth 40 feet), swimming alongside sea turtles, colorful fish, and vibrant coral.
7. Relive the Moment
Per PADI safety standards, cameras are not permitted to be operated by the Instructor or Discover Diver during the dive. Want to capture the magic? Add a professional video/photo package to your booking, and we’ll document the experience for you!
